Creating a Drawing Package

To create a Drawing Package:

  1. Once logged into the project, from the project secondary navigation bar, select PLANS & SPECS - DRAWING PACKAGES and select 'Add New'.
    1. Note that forms displayed on the secondary navigation bar are configurable. If you do not see PLANS & SPECS - DRAWING PACKAGES select 'More...' - 'Configure My Menu'. Add the PLANS & SPECS form to your secondary navigation bar. See the screen shot below. DRAWING PACKAGES is part of the PLANS & SPECS menu and should be displayed once the PLANS & SPECS form has been added to your secondary navigation bar.
  2. Enter the Subject. Subject is a required field and must be completed in order to save the specification.
  3. Enter General Notes pertinent to the Specification Package
  4. Save the Specification Package

Linking a Drawing to a Drawing Package

Drawings can be bundled into a Drawing Package for review as a package. To link a Drawing to a Drawing Package, select 'DRAWING PACKAGES' from the 'PLANS & SPECS' menu on the secondary navigation menu. Click the 'Add New' button to create a Drawing Package. Under the Drawing collection, click the 'Add Drawings' button. Selection one or more drawings to be linked to the Drawing Package and click the 'Add Revisions' button. Editing a Drawing Package

To edit a Drawing Package, click the 'Edit' button from either the Drawing Package form or from the Drawing Package log view. Edit as desired and click 'Save' to save changes.

Removing Drawings

Drawings can be removed from a drawing package in Edit mode. In Edit mode, the Drawings collection will display a 'Trash Can' next to each linked drawing. Click the 'Trash Can' to remove the drawing from the drawing package. A courtesy prompt will allow you to select 'No Never mind' to cancel the process, or 'Yes' to proceed.

Viewing a Drawing Package

Drawing Packages can either be viewed in form view or the log view. To view drawing packages in log view, ensure that you have configured your secondary navigation menu to display the PLANS & SPECS menu. See the screen shot below. Clicking  'PLANS & SPECS' on the secondary navigation menu will display a dropdown selection where DRAWING PACKAGES is displayed as an option. To view the drawing package in form view, simply click the Subject link for the desired drawing package.

Viewing a linked Drawing

From the Drawing Package - Drawing collection, you can view the linked drawing by clicking on the drawing Subject link. Doing so will direct you to the linked drawing.

Sharing a Drawing Package

To share a Drawing Package to other project users, click the  'Share' button on the Drawing Package in form view. Use the Share modal to share the Drawing Package to other project team users. For more information on sharing, please see the Help section Sharing Information 

Sharing Notation:

When a Drawing is linked to a Drawing Package, the Sharing rights on the Drawing Package will automatically be applied to the linked Drawing. Share changes on the Drawing Package will also be updated on the linked Drawing.

Deleting Drawing Packages

To delete a drawing package, select '...Delete' on the Drawing Package form. At the 'Delete?' courtesy prompt click 'No Never mind' to cancel the process or click 'Yes' to proceed. The following rules apply to deleting Drawing Packages.

  1. A Drawing Package that has been shared cannot be deleted
  2. Deleting Drawing Packages does not delete linked Drawings
